Arla Foods UK is committed to providing healthy, natural and safe food to the world’s growing population, in a sustainable way. They are leaders in their industry and Lean Lunch have been supporting them in the delivery of their Wellbeing Agenda for the past 6 months. Both companies have sustainability and wellbeing at the heart of their operation, so there is a natural synergy and partnership that has evolved as Arla’s operations have had to diversify during the global pandemic.
Arla’s initiative to support their staff, who are now working from home, has been fulfilled by Lean Lunch and made a huge impact on their staff.
Coinciding with what is traditionally known as Blue Monday, Lean Lunch delivered 90 wellbeing boxes to staff located all over the country. These boxes, entirely paid for by Arla Foods, contained nutritious, delicious Lean Lunch meals and snacks, together with a host of other wellbeing goodies, including ingredients for a healthy cook-along with Arla’s Executive Chef, Jason Calcutt.
Kirsten Donaghy, Senior Global Manufacturing Manager for Arla Foods, said that she was “Absolutely delighted to receive my Wellbeing Box from Arla Foods today – officially Blue Monday – along with a great 1.5 hr session 100% dedicated to our wellbeing this afternoon. Really, really grateful to be working for a company that really values both the mental and physical health of its employees and puts words into action.”
For Lean Lunch, the partnership with Arla Foods has been really important to their growth as a business and their mission to support organisations throughout the Leeds area in delivering a wellbeing agenda that is really meaningful.
Ash Amirahmadi, MD of Arla Foods UK said, “Arla Foods’ relationship with Lean Lunch goes beyond buying food. In 2019 Arla launched its wellbeing strategy and Lean Lunch were a perfect partner. The menu and recipes play very well to a balanced lifestyle and I’m so impressed by how Lean Lunch have adapted the business during these tough Covid times. The weekly lunch boxes that are delivered to our colleagues working from home play an essential role in ensuring our people can operate at peak condition. Nutrition and breaks being two important levers. On a personal level I just love the food they provide and look forward to opening my box of goodness every week.”
Following the success of the first wellbeing box, Arla Foods are continuing their work with Lean Lunch by subsidising the home delivery box for their staff by 50%.
This is an incredible offer for Arla Staff, which enables those in the Leeds area to order one box a week full of delicious, chef-crafted meals and snacks at a vastly reduced rate. Amanda Burns, Head of HR Operations, says, “It’s great to work for a company that cares and invests in colleague health and well-being. Time to focus on getting healthy for 2021!”
